Frequently Asked Questions for NAD+

  • Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide is a form of Vitamin B3 (Niacin). This is an essential coenzyme that is found in the mitochondria (the “energy powerhouses”) of all living cells. It is heavily involved in DNA repair and cellular remodeling. It has been known to “turn off” those genes that accelerate degenerative aging and are essential for maintaining neurotransmitter levels for the proper functioning of the brain. It is key in cellular metabolism. The heart, brain and muscle tissue cells contain the highest concentration of NAD. The more NAD present in cells, the more efficiently they function. As we age, our NAD levels tend to decline, making us less able to repair cellular damage. We begin to lose energy, appear older and have decreased brain function.

NAD+ plays a significant role in anti-aging. With NAD+ IV therapy and the NAD+ IM injections, the molecule works rapidly to repair cells throughout the body and neurons in the brain. It serves as a catalyst in ultimate brain restoration which assists in overcoming depression, anxiety, and common mood disorders. Restoring and supplementing NAD+ in the body may improve physical appearance, health, and quality of life.

  • Supplementation of NAD+ can:

    - Increase energy levels

    - Enhance mood & mental clarity

    - Reverse the visible effects of aging

    - Reduce fatigue

    - Restore muscle function and athletic performance

    - Restore brain chemistry and neurotransmitter function

    - Prevent & correct damage to DNA

    - Regulate inflammation that damages DNA

    - Improve physical appearance, health, and quality of life

Research has shown IV NAD is beneficial in the treatment of a variety of conditions. These include traumatic brain injuries, cardiovascular disease, blood sugar imbalance & diabetes, autoimmune conditions, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, kidney & liver disease, and neurodegenerative disease such as dementia, Parkinson’s, spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis. NAD has also demonstrated improvements in depression, alcohol & drug addiction, exercise capacity, and halt age decline.

  • Most side effects are directly related to the speed at which the IV is infused at the time of the infusion. They can be relieved by slowing down the infusion. Side effects lessen with subsequent infusions.

    Common Side Effects:

    - Heat & flushing sensation due to the magnesium

    - B-vitamin taste

    - Fatigue

    - Nausea with rapid infusion or on an empty stomach

    - Irritation at IV access site

    - Hypoglycemia

    Rare Side Effects:

    - Temporary numbness in hands from rapid infusion

    - Detox reactions: headache, body ache

*All side effects resolve shortly after infusion is completed

  • NAD+ IV therapy is administered in an IV and infused over a slow drip rate of up to 3 hours for first-time patients. Many patients take less than 3 hours, especially for subsequent infusions.

The NAD IM is an intramuscular shot that patients can get in their glute or deltoid muscle.

  • For NAD+ IV therapy, the recommended regimen is once weekly for 4-6 weeks, followed by another infusion one month later. For maintenance, an IV infusion every 3-6 months is recommended.

Better results were seen when vitamin B complex and magnesium were also infused. This is included with each NAD+ infusion. Glutathione IV push is also recommended (optional) as an add-on to be given after each IV infusion.

NAD IM injections come in 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg and 100mg dosing to be given weekly. It is recommended to receive an NAD+ IV prior to IM injections to help saturate the cells and to easily monitor how well the NAD+ IV is tolerated. IM Shots are ideal to be given in between IV infusions to help maintain NAD levels in the body.

  • The initial drip can take up to 3-4 hours, depending on tolerance. Subsequent NAD+ IV infusions are usually quicker (1-2 hours).

  • Side effects that are normally experienced with the NAD+ IV infusion are directly related to the speed of the infusion itself. By getting NAD+ at a slow infusion rate, side effects are minimized.

  • - Allergy to Vitamin B3 or Niacin

    - A history of ANY form of cancer due to the direct action on the mitochondria

    - If you are on dopamine agonists. NAD has been known to increase dopamine levels. Dopamine agonists can be used for Parkinson’s, depression and fibromyalgia.

Your NAD+ intake form will be reviewed thoroughly before this IV infusion.

  • Enhanced Mitochondrial Function: Maintaining mitochondrial efficiency, NAD+ can be key to improving overall performance.

Increased Endurance: By optimizing cellular energy production, NAD+ supplementation contributes to better endurance during physical activities, enabling athletes to surpass their limits.

Accelerated Muscle Recovery: NAD+ shows potential for promoting muscle recovery, reducing recovery times between workouts, and enhancing recovery after intense exercises.
